TianJin Railway Station

In 1877, in order to supply coal needed by Beiyang Navy, Ship Merchants Bureau and Tianjin Machinery Bureau (arsenal), Li Hongzhang ordered the establishment of Kaiping Coal Mine Company, and the first shaft was excavated in Tangshan by machinery for the first time. In order to transport coal to the nearest Haikou, the company requested the construction of a railway from Tangshan to Beitang, which was opposed by the Qing government. Kaiping Coal Mine Company had to apply for shortening the railway line, only to repair Tangshan to Xugezhuang (now Fengnan) section. From Xugezhuang to Yanzhuang (near the Ninghe River today), canals were excavated to connect the existing Ji Canal to Beitang Haikou. The ridiculous and helpless request was finally reluctantly passed. Construction officially started in October 1880, with a total length of 9.67 kilometers. It was opened on November 8, 1881 and named “Tangxu Railway”. The Tangxu Railway was extended to Lutai in 1887 and was built to Tianjin in 1888. It is 130 kilometers long and named “Jintang Railway”.

According to historical records: Jintang Railway, the main line is single-track operation, the rails use 24 kilograms per metre light rail (station line is 18 kilograms), its gauge uses the world’s “standard gauge” that is, the distance between the two rails is 1.435 meters. When Tianjin Railway Station was first built, the station line was two shares (later expanded to nine shares, commonly known as “lower nine shares”), one platform (platform), and several rudimentary office rooms. A 6031 a 6031 4 years later, in May 1892, the station was moved westward to “half a mile Xu” (about 500 meters) and a certain scale station was built near Jijialou and Huoshenmiao villages (i.e., the former site of Tianjin Station rebuilt in 1987). The station after the relocation is commonly known as the “Old Dragon Head” railway station because it is located in the “Old Dragon Head” area on the East Bank of Haihe River (i.e., the area from the original “Majiakou” to the “Old Dragon Head Ferry” in the downstream of the Plaza Bridge to the Jiefangqiao Bridge); at the beginning of the last century, the station was destroyed because of the “Gengzi Mutiny”, and a more perfect station was rebuilt at the original site the following year (1902). It is named “Tianjin Zi Station” and a monument of “Old Dragon Head” is built in the center of the station square (later demolished). In 1911, Tianjin Zi Station was renamed Tianjin East Station. In order to organize the international intermodal transport business, the first international train was successfully launched on October 10, 1930 at the first platform (international platform) after the installation of a common up-and-down, inbound and outbound signaling machine at the first platform.

entered the 1930s and 1940s. Because of the “war” and other factors, the station did not develop much. In the second year after the founding of New China, more than 1000 square meters of waiting rooms were expanded. Until the rebuilding of Tianjin Railway Station in 1988, passenger traffic has increased sharply in 39 years, with an average of 65,000 passengers per day, five times as many as in the early days of the founding of New China. In 1987, decided by the municipal government and the Ministry of Railway, and approved by the State Council, Tianjin Railway Hub Renovation Project was listed as the key project of the National Seventh Five-Year Plan. Construction began on April 15, 1987, and was formally completed on October 1, 1988. Comrade Deng Xiaoping personally inscribed the name of Tianjin Station. Since then, Tianjin East Station has been renamed Tianjin Station. Tianjin Station, one of the “two points (Tianjin Station, Nancang) and the two lines (South Cao Liaison Line and North Ring Multiple Line), has been renovated and put into operation at the same time. A 6031 a 6031 Tianjin Railway Station has been carrying out new renovation and expansion projects since January 2007. The overall renovation plan is to be completed by the end of June 2010. Mainly divided into front and rear square projects nine and the surrounding municipal traffic engineering. After the renovation, Tianjin Railway Station will be upgraded to a three-dimensional transportation hub integrating various modes of transportation. New Tianjin Railway Station has unique design and atmospheric appearance. The Haihe East Road Tunnel and the underground square in front of the station have been put into use, forming an underground overpass. This large-scale comprehensive underground transportation hub can be regarded as the first in the country. The most remarkable Beijing-Tianjin inter-city train also officially operated on August 1, 2008, with a speed of 350 kilometers | hours and only 30 minutes from Tianjin to Beijing.
